Reema Prasad first started practicing yoga in 2007. After falling in love with the practice, she decided to pursue teacher training upon moving to Santa Cruz, CA. Reema completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 and 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2016. She studied with Mark Stephens at the Mark Stephens Yoga Teacher Training school in Santa Cruz, CA, and has been teaching yoga since 2014. Her teachings include all levels of Vinyasa Flow as well as Restorative and Adaptive Yoga.
Reema has many years of work experience in the high tech industry in Silicon Valley and is currently a senior manager at Cisco. She encourages yoga and meditation for anyone with demanding careers, as it has helped her to avoid burnout and achieve a better work and life balance. Reema is especially passionate about exploring avenues to bring yoga to students who may find themselves in front of computers and/or in a sitting position in a work office for long periods of time.
Reema also has an education background in physics, with a concentration in astrophysics. Because of this background, she loves the concept of exploring lines of energy and alignment in her yoga practice. Reema is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance and enjoys practicing and teaching yoga as a way to achieve balance in an otherwise demanding professional career. She is also very passionate about volunteering and has supported the Santa Cruz Adaptive Yoga Project as a volunteer assistant, acted as an ambassador for the Art of Yoga project, and was a volunteer teacher for the Yoga For All Movement (YFAM).
