Teresa Thissen

Teresa was intrigued by yoga the moment she discovered it. Originally interested more in the mental benefits it offers, she was then drawn deeply into its physical benefits after a traumatic car accident at the age of 19. Yoga has been a huge part of her life ever since. She was certified in 2013 with Marianne Wells and is currently studying with Tiffany Cruikshank to complete her advanced certification through Yoga Medicine. Her major interests in yoga today are in the comprehensive benefits of meditation, as well as the internal awareness that yoga brings and using that awareness as a personal guide to growing and advancing one’s unique practice, improving day to day life, alleviating pain and learning to move the body with mindfulness and ease. Her teaching focuses on alignment and anatomy, mindfulness and pranayama, while maintaining a sense of playful movement and individual expression.
